About English

In collaboration with Elsa Peretti Foundation

The resulting original work is presented as a diptych (my portrait of them, and the resulting self-portrait on the copy given to them) it is not intended for sale, the final aim is to be a donation of the resulting full body work. This is an inclusive and ongoing worldwide project with other visual artists. Selection is done by word of mouth, i do not judge, my likes or dislikes do not interfere, it is up to the artists to select themselves, providing this way a uncensored selection. The artist has the freedom to rework his/her image as pleased, any media is welcome. It all started with 3 artists friends in Barcelona early 90´s (Sabala, FMG, Robert Llimos). The project was presented in September 1997 at the Maria Jose Castellvi Gallery, with 97 local artists, the exhibition won the "Best Gallery exhibition year 1997" awarded by ACCA (Associacio Catalana de Critics D´Art), next evolved by word of mouth in between the artists and artists from different European countries added to the project, creating the European album.
In 2011 i was invited to do the project with Nepali artists, by the K.C.A.C. (Kathmandu Contemporary Arts Centre) the resulting collaboration with 314 Nepali artists was presented at the Patan Museum, Kathmandu, Nepal in between March 28th and April 11th 2012, creating the Nepal album. In 2011 The Elsa Peretti provided the founds for The limited edition of...from-portrait-to-self-portrait....Vol1, this first book groups the first 242 European artists that have participated in the project.
