If you are interested in purchasing this product you will need to know a few things about the project and collection of volumes. The project is based on a block of 1001 artists with portraits and self-portraits which will finish with an exhibition housing the full collection. The books will be split into 5 volumes; 4 of which will house the full collection of images between them, the 5th being a smaller sized book giving the full credits and journey of the project. The order of the volumes are all individually displayed in alphabetical order by the first name of the artist and each volume composed in order of the when the artists return their self-portrait.
When a collector purchases Vol 1, they then have the right to reserve the next volume and so on. Their name will appear on the credit panel on the final exhibition and in the 5th Volume. The purchaser will also be invited to the final exhibition and to the separate private opening prior which will consist only of the artists and collaborators.
In the project the collector is considered as involved as the artists, collaborators and the Elsa Peretti Foundation. Their name will appear in the document of donation to which ever museum that will exhibit the final collection. This will only apply to volumes sold during construction of project and the original prints from the project composed on the final exhibition will not be for sale but donated to the museum.
The books are signed and numbered by hand with white or silver ink at the back of the book, sealed and boxed. The numbered products will be purchased at random, but if the collector wishes to keep continuity and select the same number for the second volume they may do so.
Each volume has 1500 products produced and from that quantity 1001 are for sale as 499 have been reserved for the artists and collaborators involved.
